City of Pacific Grove
The City of Pacific Grove was granted sovereign tide and submerged lands in trust in 1931 to be used solely for public amusement and pleasure purposes, such as boat and yacht harbors, boating and yachting, swimming tanks, and other similar purposes. The trust lands may not otherwise be used for commercial, industrial or revenue producing purposes. The grant was amended in 1980 to provide for the use of a nonprofit aquarium for the benefit, education and enjoyment of the public and to conduct scientific research in the field of marine biology.
