The Commission acknowledged, honored, and expressed gratitude to Jennifer Lucchesi and Colin Connor, Executive Officer and Assistant Executive Officer, for their exemplary service to the Commission and many accomplishments over the decades. Jennifer is moving to the Department of Conservation to serve as Executive Director, and Colin is retiring from state service.

The City of Imperial Beach hosted the State Lands Commission for its October meeting. Mayor Paloma Aguirre welcomed the Commission and provided key remarks during a briefing on the Tijuana River transboundary pollution crisis.

The August meeting took place in the City of Santa Barbara. The City of Goleta Mayor Pro Tempore welcomed the Commission and expressed gratitude for the Commission having its meeting in Santa Barbara and providing the community with the opportunity to comment on issues of local importance.

We welcomed a new Commissioner, Michelle Perrault, who is representing the Department of Finance. The Commission also recognized former Commissioner Miller’s extraordinary contributions during her years of service.
