THE CALIFORNIA STATE LANDS COMMISSION:
(a) Only collects personally identifiable information and may only be obtained through lawful means.
(b) The purposes for which personally identifiable data are collected are identified on each form provided by the State Lands Commission. The information collected is only used for state business purposes and contain specific information relating to privacy as required.
(c) Personal data is not disclosed, made available, or otherwise used for a purpose other than those specified on the form(s), except with the consent of the subject of the data, or as required by law or regulation.
(d) The State Lands Commission protects personal data against data loss, unauthorized access, use, modification, or disclosure through written policies, limiting access to work areas through managed electronic entry systems, network security using layers of defense including, but not limited to, firewall protection, encryption, limiting network access using the principle of least privileged and ensuring personal data on paper is separated from public data. Annual security training is also provided to Commission staff which encompasses the identification and protection of personally identifiable information. Included on each Commission form is the following:
(d) Information requested on any Commission form that request personally identifiable information may only be completed by the individual requesting the information or service, per Civil Code Section 1798.15.
